Job Description

At Rootstack, we are looking for a GCP DevOps Engineer with more than 5 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering, including at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing cloud infrastructure, containerized applications, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and production environments. This role requires someone proactive, security-oriented, and capable of building highly available and scalable cloud solutions while collaborating effectively with international teams and clients.

Required Skills

5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer.
3+ years of hands-on experience working with Google Cloud Platform.
Strong experience with Kubernetes, particularly Google Kubernetes Engine, Docker, and containerized applications.
Proven experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or Google Cloud Build.
Solid Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with scripting and automation using Bash and/or Python.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Google Cloud Monitoring, and Cloud Logging.
Strong knowledge of GCP services, including Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, IAM, VPC, Load Balancing, Secret Manager, Artifact Registry, and Cloud Storage.
Familiarity with Git, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and DevOps best practices.
Excellent troubleshooting, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
English level: C1 or higher.

Nice to Have

Google Cloud Professional certifications.
Experience with Ansible, Helm, Argo CD, or GitOps practices.
Experience working with multi-cloud environments, including AWS or Microsoft Azure.
Experience supporting microservices and cloud-native architectures.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters using Google Kubernetes Engine.
Build, deploy, and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines.
Manage GCP services and cloud resources according to project and business requirements.
Monitor application and infrastructure performance using observability and logging tools.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure, deployment, performance, and availability issues.
Automate operational processes using Bash, Python, and DevOps tools.
Apply security, access control, networking, and cloud governance best practices.
Support production environments while ensuring high availability, scalability, reliability, and disaster recovery readiness.
Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, project managers, and other technical teams to improve deployment and development processes.
Participate in technical discussions, architecture decisions, planning sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and infrastructure standards.
