Website Redesign and Modernization for an Educational Institution

The institution faced several challenges related to its digital presence:

• An outdated website with limited functionality and low usability.
• Outdated or low-quality content and visual resources.
• Lack of established brand guidelines, making visual consistency difficult to maintain.
• The need to meet accessibility standards for users with visual, hearing, and cognitive disabilities.
• The need to migrate existing content and create new material without disrupting institutional communication.

Rootstack carried out a comprehensive website reconstruction using Drupal as a modern and scalable content management system. The project began with an analysis of existing content and navigation to identify critical elements, improvement opportunities, and areas requiring a more organized information architecture.

A user-centered experience was developed to make relevant information easier to access for students, families, and educators. As part of the redesign and migration, Rootstack rebuilt the website's main structure, selectively migrated historical content, and developed new, updated materials. The project included approximately 19 pages, covering institutional, educational, and news sections.

The content architecture was reorganized to make educational programs, news, and key resources easier to find. The new structure included sections for articles, events, photo galleries, blogs, news, institutional information, and educational programs adapted to different disabilities.

Accessibility was one of the main components of the solution. Rootstack applied an accessibility-first approach, improving typography, color contrast, responsive design, and navigation with the goal of complying with WCAG web accessibility standards.

Rootstack also established a more consistent visual identity that reflected the institution's mission. This included developing a color palette and basic visual guidelines, updating images and graphic elements, and creating visual guidelines to maintain consistency across future updates.

The resulting Drupal platform provides a flexible and robust foundation, prepared to support new sections, content, and functionality as the institution's needs evolve.
