Our client wanted to replace fragmented and manual lending workflows with a centralized digital platform capable of automating credit evaluations, improving analyst productivity, and integrating seamlessly with its existing core banking ecosystem. Rootstack was selected for its expertise in banking solutions, process automation, microservices architectures, and enterprise system integration.
The bank’s loan origination process depended on multiple disconnected systems and manual activities performed by credit analysts. Teams were responsible for reviewing documentation, validating customer information, consulting credit bureaus, applying lending policies, and coordinating approvals across different departments.
This approach created long approval cycles, inconsistent evaluations, operational bottlenecks, and limited scalability as loan demand increased. The institution needed a digital solution capable of automating the entire lending journey while maintaining strong risk controls, regulatory compliance, and seamless integration with its core banking platform.
Rootstack designed and implemented a Digital Loan Origination Platform based on a microservices architecture that automated every stage of the lending process, including application submission, document validation, credit assessment, approval workflows, loan disbursement, and post-approval monitoring.
The platform was structured into independent services responsible for specific business domains such as customer onboarding, application management, document processing, credit evaluation, decision management, and loan tracking. Through REST APIs and event-driven communication, each component could operate independently while maintaining complete visibility across the credit lifecycle.
A BPM workflow engine was incorporated to coordinate the entire origination journey, automating activities such as document verification, credit bureau consultations, risk analysis, business rule execution, approval routing, and customer notifications. The configurable workflows allowed business teams to adjust lending processes without requiring application code modifications.
Additionally, Rootstack integrated a centralized decision engine to automate the application of credit policies and lending criteria. The solution connected with core banking systems, credit bureaus, document repositories, and internal platforms through APIs, while monitoring and audit capabilities provided full traceability of every application, decision, and transaction.
