Rootstack developed a new mobile banking application using Flutter, delivering a fast, secure, and consistent experience across iOS and Android from a single codebase.


A financial institution needed to modernize its mobile banking application to meet evolving customer expectations while ensuring uninterrupted banking services. The organization sought a technology partner with expertise in high-performance mobile banking applications, microservices architectures, and security-first solutions for the financial industry.
Rootstack was selected to redesign the mobile experience and build a scalable platform capable of supporting future digital growth while integrating seamlessly with the bank’s existing technology ecosystem.
The bank’s legacy mobile application no longer delivered the performance, usability, or functionality expected by modern users. The application suffered from an outdated user experience, limited transactional capabilities, and a login process based solely on traditional credentials, resulting in lower adoption and customer engagement.
Additionally, the absence of biometric authentication and push notifications limited customer interaction, while low App Store and Google Play ratings negatively impacted the bank’s brand perception. The institution needed a modern mobile platform that would improve user experience, increase mobile banking adoption, simplify secure authentication, and integrate with its existing microservices architecture.
Rootstack developed a new mobile banking application using Flutter, enabling a high-performance and consistent experience across both iOS and Android from a single codebase. The project included a complete UX/UI redesign focused on intuitive navigation, improved responsiveness, and optimized performance, reducing the number of steps required to complete everyday banking transactions.
The application introduced biometric authentication through facial recognition and fingerprint verification, integrated with OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC) to provide secure identity management and centralized authorization. It also incorporated key banking capabilities such as account inquiries, real-time fund transfers, card management, push notifications, financial product information, and fully digital customer onboarding.
The solution was fully integrated with the bank’s microservices platform through APIs, enabling business services to be shared across multiple digital channels, including the institution’s digital wallet. This architecture accelerated the delivery of new features while ensuring a consistent customer experience across the bank’s digital ecosystem.
