Remote care using a telemedicine platform integrated into the clinical workflow

A Latin American health insurer and provider network needed to expand its care coverage to areas lacking in-person medical services and to relieve pressure on its emergency departments caused by low-acuity cases.

The SaaS telemedicine solutions evaluated failed to integrate with the organization's electronic health records or authorization workflows, which would have created an isolated silo of clinical data separate from the official medical record.

The organization required a proprietary platform capable of operating at scale and transforming every teleconsultation into a complete clinical encounter. To address this challenge, the institution partnered with Rootstack to design and implement a telemedicine platform featuring WebRTC-based video, digital triage, and e-prescribing capabilities integrated directly into the electronic health record.
